As of July 6th, APS offices are open to staff and invited visitors. The Society will remain closed to the public for at least the rest of the summer. Library & Museum staff now have access to our collections and will respond to reference and photoduplication requests as soon as possible. However, please note that response times may be delayed due to increased demand. The Society will continue a robust slate of virtual programs throughout the summer and fall. Susan Laquer has led a distinguished career in Philadelphia-area archives for the last three decades. Before coming to the APS, she worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she was The Martha Hamilton Morris Archivist. She also previously worked in the archives at Pennsylvania Hospital. Susan is a leader in collections management and has published essays on “Fundraising” and “Ethics, Privacy, and Restrictions” in the Society of American Archivists’ publication Museum Archives: An Introduction. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; a Masters of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University; and her MLIS from Drexel University
