K. Stawasz is a Ph.D. student in the History Department at Rutgers University studying gender and sexuality in the history of science. K.’s current research examines how LGBTQ scientists and engineers formed a collective identity, confronted the barriers they faced within their professions, and mobilized to advocate for change. K. is deeply invested in public history and strives to integrate community-engaged research and digital humanities into their work.
