Donovan Fifield researches the economic, social, political, and military history of Colonial North America. His other academic interests include global legal history, early modern imperialism, state formation, the history of Atlantic refugees in the late-eighteenth century, and the comparative historical study of financial crises. He completed his PhD in history at the University of Virginia in 2024 and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tübingen.
