Map Chats Spotlight: York & Benjamin Banneker

1:00-2:00 p.m. EST
A map of Lewis and Clark trail next to a map of the US capital

Friday, February 25 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST

In celebration of Black History Month, trek along with the APS in this informal Map Chats Spotlight: York and Benjamin Banneker. In this program we’ll focus on two maps with connections to York and Benjamin Banneker.

Join Museum Education Coordinator Ali Rospond as we peruse those maps from our past exhibition: Mapping a Nation: Shaping the Early American Republic. Ali will chat about the maps and their connection to York from the Lewis and Clark expedition and Benjamin Banneker’s connection to surveying the US Capital.

This informal event will take place virtually on Zoom.
