As a member of the APS Development Office, Alexis manages the Society’s Friends program, launched in 2009 by Council (the Society’s governing board) to engage wider audiences in the APS mission and programs. Alexis works with the Society’s volunteer Friends of the APS Committee to encourage fellowship among existing and new Friends, researching scholars, APS Member descendants, alumni of the APS grant program, and families associated with APS collections. She previously served as the Society’s grant writer during the tail end of the last capital campaign, completed in 2008. Alexis received her BA from Hamilton College (with concentrations in government and anthropology) and her MS in historic preservation from the University of Pennsylvania.
