As of July 6th, APS offices are open to staff and invited visitors. The Society will remain closed to the public for at least the rest of the summer. Library & Museum staff now have access to our collections and will respond to reference and photoduplication requests as soon as possible. However, please note that response times may be delayed due to increased demand. The Society will continue a robust slate of virtual programs throughout the summer and fall. As a member of the APS Development Office, Alexis manages the Society’s Friends program, launched in 2009 by Council (the Society’s governing board) to engage wider audiences in the APS mission and programs. Alexis works with the Society’s volunteer Friends of the APS Committee to encourage fellowship among existing and new Friends, researching scholars, APS Member descendants, alumni of the APS grant program, and families associated with APS collections. She previously served as the Society’s grant writer during the tail end of the last capital campaign, completed in 2008. Alexis received her BA from Hamilton College (with concentrations in government and anthropology) and her MS in historic preservation from the University of Pennsylvania.
