CFP: "Somerset v. Steuart @ 250: Facts, Interpretations, and Legacies," December 1-2, 2022

The two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the landmark Somerset v. Steuart decision, which affirmed the right of an enslaved person to freedom on English soil, provides an opportunity for a scholarly symposium to reflect upon scholarly interpretations and offer fresh appraisals of the causes, nature, and consequences of the decision.
