Edward Everett (1794-1864, APS 1831) was an American politician, pastor, educator, diplomat, and orator from Massachusetts, where he taught and was president of Harvard University. He is remembered as one of the featured speakers at the dedication of Gettysburg Cemetery, where he spoke just before Abraham Lincoln.
