This program will be taking place on Zoom. Watching the Stars and Skies: Citizen Science in the Past is an informal talk; all levels of learners are welcome!

Join us as we shoot for the stars and learn about the 1769 transit of Venus, David Rittenhouse, and efforts in what we would now likely call citizen science.

Join Museum Education Coordinator Ali Rospond as she talks about the 1769 transit of Venus, the efforts to document it, and how the APS and its Members played important parts in this scientific feat. We will explore the Society’s role in helping citizen science efforts of the past and fun ways to get out and take your own scientific observations.

This program will take place via Zoom. Registration is required.
