Registration is required.
Thursday, May 28th from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. ET
Join the American Philosophical Society and the Museum of the American Revolution in a friendly contest learning about the Declaration of Independence and its history. Learn about the Declaration’s history and impact through two special exhibitions: the APS’ These Truths: The Declarations of Independence and the Museum of the American Revolution’s The Declaration’s Journey. APS Education Programs Manager Ali Rospond and Museum of the American Revolution’s Manager of Gallery Interpretation Meg Bowersox will lead a lively discussion about their institutions’ current exhibitions about the Declaration of Independence in honor of the 250th anniversary. In this competitive, flash-talk format presentation, Ali and Meg will each try to share everything they know about 15 items from each of their exhibitions for a total of 30 different topics from across the two exhibitions in 30 minutes, one minute each topic.
Discover the many stories and events of the Declaration of Independence highlighted in these two institutions’ exhibitions. Find out if these two will be able to keep to the time limit. See who wins in this battle of Old City institutions. The exhibition, These Truths: The Declarations of Independence, will be available for viewing after the talk.
Please note that photographs or video may be taken by APS staff throughout the event for educational and/or promotional materials.
