Contours of American Mathematics uses the collections of the American Philosophical Society to explore the development of the field of mathematics in the United States from the eighteenth through the mid-twentieth centuries. An online and physical exhibition were completed to coincide with the 2026 International Congress of Mathematicians, held in Philadelphia.
The physical exhibit is located in the lobby of Library Hall and will be open from July 20, 2026 to September 18, 2026. The permanent online exhibit may be visited here.
