Scope and content

This collection is composed of material taken from various albums. It includes letters between prominent scientists, including David Brewster, Francis Buckland Charles Bonaparte, and Herbert Spencer.

The majority of correspondence is friendly letters, and topics discussed include astronomy, natural history and fossils. Also included are autographs from Ulysses S. Grant, Lewis Boss, David Brewster and Verney Lovett Cameron among others.
