These five volumes contain the travel journal of Thomas Peters Smith during his tour through Europe from 1800-1802. He was interested in learning about new technology in Europe. The journals record his observations. He often discusses the engineering developments he sees, sometimes drawing crude diagrams, as well as making observations on European society and culture. Countries visited include Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, England.
