PARTICULARS
ACCOMMODATIONS: Members, their spouses (or one family member) and invitees are guests of the Society while attending the Meeting. The Society will pay room and tax charges for members and Society guests at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins (Number One Nob Hill) for two nights. Those who wish to include additional persons will be billed for their guests' hotel and meal expenses. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.; checkout time is 12:00 noon. When checking out, please pay all charges except the two-night allowance.
PARKING: Valet parking and self-parking are available at the Mark Hopkins.
RESERVATIONS: Room reservations must be made directly with the hotel at 1-800-662-4455. In addition, you must register on-line at www.apsmeetings.org or complete and return the enclosed registration form to the Society.
Should your plans change and you or your guests are unable to use all or part of your reservation, please cancel with both the Mark Hopkins and the APS (westcott@amphilsoc.org). The hotel will bill you for room reservations not canceled 72 hours before your scheduled arrival.
REGISTRATION: Registration will open in the Lobby Terrace on Thursday, November 9, at 3:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday and Saturday mornings, November 10 and 11, at 7:45 a.m. Please sign in and receive a program, a list of those expected to attend, a name badge and other related Meeting materials.
PAGERS AND CELL PHONES: As a courtesy to our speakers and audience, please silence pagers and cell phones upon entering the meeting room, Peacock Court.
ACOUSTICS: Participation in the discussion to follow each presentation or symposium is encouraged. To ensure that everyone will be able to hear and appreciate your question or comment, please stand upon being recognized by the Chair, wait for the arrival of a microphone, and introduce yourself to the audience.
DINING: Breakfast will be served in the Lobby Terrace on Friday and Saturday mornings from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. Luncheon will be served in the Room of the Dons. Friday evening's dinner (business attire) will be held at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Please choose a table in advance by signing the reservation sheets located on the registration table in the Lobby Terrace. Table selections will be available for review during cocktails that evening.
