Abstract
Daughter of Catherine Wistar, the granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin, and Dr. William Bache, Sarah Bache married the Presbyterian theologian Charles Hodge in 1822. Two of the Hodge's eight children followed their father in becoming professors at Princeton Theological Seminary

News of various friends. Glad to hear of her and her family's safe arrival and of their escape from the dreadful disorder at Philadelphia. Ellen is writing to Eliza; Mrs. F. joins in love and good wishes.
