Medical History Images

The APS houses one of the strongest collections in the nation for documenting the history of medicine in the early 20th century (see the Guide to the History of Medicine for details and holdings information). Many of these collections contain photographs and drawings from the early and middle parts of the 20th Century that document doctors and researchers in both their private and professional lives as well as their working environments. The medical history images may be viewed in their entirety or by the collection from which they are drawn.
