Abstract

These songs were transcribed by Jesse Cornplanter from manuscripts of his father, Edward Cornplanter, and of George Pierce, and also from memory. There are occasional notes in English that give tempi, behavior of dances, sources, etc. Included are 4 letters between Jesse Cornplanter and William N. Fenton.
